Le Saint Joseph
Le Saint Joseph is a sixteen-key, family-owned hotel on Rue Park City in Courchevel 1850, about two minutes on foot from the gondolas, chairlifts and slopes. Owned by Eric Claret Tournier, it is almost always full because its regulars come back year after year: book well ahead.
The story starts in 1948, when Joseph 'Jo' Claret-Tournier, born in Chamonix, settled in the young resort and opened a bar. He then opened a small hotel on Rue Park City, the Hôtel Tournier, and in 1958 Le Lana, which he built up with his wife Catherine.
His eldest son, Eric, who now runs the family group of around fifteen hotels, bars and restaurants, later transformed the hotel into a private mountain house: carved wood, parquet and terracotta tiles kept from the original building, silk rugs and deep sofas added. It has ten rooms, four suites and two duplex apartments, Le Saint Amour and Le Saint Nicolas, each around 300 m².
Two restaurants sit inside: Le San Marco (Italian) and Le Grand Café (Asian). The bar and lounges are busy at après-ski.
